Many of the quieter couples are drawn into our Covenant Community wife first. I look at my brother-in-law for example, whose nomadic wanderings were ended by the desire of his wife to be close to her sister, the pastor's wife. (Not that that's how they would tell it. :-)

To a great extent, the wife even determines where the couple will live, usually ending up moving close to her side of the family. In my case, the closer our family migrated toward my brother-in-law, the more relaxed (and fertile!) my wife got.

This has been a source of frustration for me. I've had it up to here, for instance, with standoffish New England. I tell my son, a Texan at heart, to watch himself, because you can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take New England out of the girl. Sooner or later she is going to want to move back!

For quite a few years now I've been longing to start a field-street-life@wscccpca.org mailing list. It would be open to all who live on Field ST, W Springfield, MA, USA. It would be a place to post events that effect the people living on our street in a particular way, or are within walking distance. I would need to get my pastor's blessing, and the sanction of the elders.

Configuring the email software, though, has proven to be very difficult.
