SF MTG

I finally found a group of adult Magic the Gathering players! While I was waiting to perform at The Canvas Gallery Open Mike Night (weds 7pm), I noticed a group of guys in the corner playing Magic the Gathering. As I walked over, I recognized one of the players as J.C. from Catalla Systems. They play draft on Wednesday nights, and another related group plays constructed on Sundays. Here's the Yahoo group address:

Now I just need to get out more... Imagine, one night to play guitar and play cards and sip wine and walk home ;-)

Jackson swims
I've been meaning to mention this all week. Last Saturday at swim class, Jackson finally "got it" and really enjoyed himself. He was clingy and unhappy at first, but then after just a few minutes, something just clicked for him, and he kicked and wiggled with smiles on his face. Now I'm really(!) looking forward to swim class tomorrow, perhaps his grandpa will come and snap some pictures.

EyeTools

I had lunch with Colin Johnson yesterday. We talked extensively about his business venture EyeTools, which uses eye tracking hardware and their own analysis tools to quantify and qualify viewer responses to website and advertising presentations. After several years of covert development and market research, EyeTools has recently launched a new website and began participating in usability conferences around the country. And it appears that these promotional activities are already paying off, with two solid leads in the works.
