MKT/469 - Sales Management I've been pursuing a business/marketing degree at the University of Phoenix since the summer of 2001. Today, I completed MKT/469 - Sales Management, which explored how to define sales territories, recruit sales people, implement motivation and compensation plans, and measure performance.
Online coursework is just as much work as in-class coursework. Each class is 5 weeks long, and each week there are several chapters of reading, class participation via online newsgroup, individual papers (700-1200 words), team projects (teams of 3-5 students, 700-1200 word per week), and quizzes. The program has definitely been kicking my butt, as I try to fit it in behind family and work.
Ultimately, though, you get what you put in. I've tried to be very aggressive in my studies and have used my experiences at After Hours Software and PuppetTime/Cycore to cement my comprehension. The results has been tremendous for me… so many "Aha!" moments I've lost count.
With Sales Management completed, that leaves only 6 courses left… light at the end of the tunnel! My next course is Integrated Marketing Communications, starting next week. 6:57:27 PM |

The Seven Year Jeep Today, I paid off the balance on my Jeep. Seven years @ 8%, what the heck was I thinking? But even after 140K miles and two transmissions, I still love it! 9:19:51 AM |
