Parkinsons needs a CURE, not just medication that is less effective as time goes on. It has been some time since I shared my thoughts, but the increasing limitations of Parkenson's disease leave me no choice. I kow how controversial stem cell theraphy is, and that there are many unknowns, HOWEVER, based on what I read, it is the most promising possibility of a CURE.
The most frustating part is the lack of support by our President, who has no concern for people like me with Parkinsons, or those with Alzheimers, or my granddaughter with Type One diabetes.
I am a lifelong Republican, but he has lost my vote...

Parkinsons: I've been living with it for almost three years now. Some days it seems to take over for a few hours, other days it doesn't bother me so much, but year by year there is a difference. We need a cure!!! Diet, exercise, and medicine slow down, but do not stop this terrible disease.

Parkinsons and Diabetes Type One: Having been diagnosed over two years ago with Parkinsons and with a beautiful granddaughter, age 10, who was diagnosed at 1.5 years old with Juvenile Diabees, my focus and prayers are that a permanent cure is found for both of us. She is now using the insulin pump, a significant technical improvement in insulin delivery vs the "shots" twice per day or more. I am very encouraged with the position that Senator Orrin Hatch recently took per the NY Times article on May 2nd http://www.nytimes.com/2002/05/02/opinion/_02THU1.html
regarding his support for "regenerative medicine".

WEBLOG ACTIVE AGAIN!: I'm pleased to report that I'm now able to use my Weblog after sorting out a change in the URL for my public page. I think the problem appeared about the time I upgraded from Win 98SE to Win 2000.
Note: Win 98SE was crashing daily, sometimes twice for good measure. Win 2000, installed by my son Jim, has not crashed in over three weeks and is faster!!!
My new URL is http://radio.weblogs.com/0100890/
