A Letter to Michael
Dear Michael,
Last year, you wrote or asked about how I feel when I go
out on a backpacking trip. So here:

is my latest trip report, from a trip taken couple of months ago.
If you no longer have eyes with which to read it, maybe you can get
its spirit from the hearts of those who loved you.
It's not quite done yet, I've been busy looking for a job
and getting our house ready to sell in case my job situation forces
us to do so.
I am overwhelmingly grateful to you for showing, by example,
how thoroughly one can transform one's life through determination,
and I remain full of respect for you for having accomplished that.
I just wish the second part of that lesson hadn't been so costly.
That's the part that says "Do it now, because life is now".
