The improbably-named mmO2 (formerly BT Cellnet) has put its PocketPC 2002-based xda handheld device on UK high streets. Is this the one for me I wonder.

Dave Winer says ..."another reason I blog is patents. My weblog is my "lab notebook." I keep track of my art here, lest someone someday take a patent out on an idea I came up with.".

This is a good point. I've also heard that musicians send copies of their music to themselves by recorded delivery and never open the package so they can prove in the future that someone has stolen music that they already wrote. The internet as a repository of prior claims on Intellectual Property is a good idea that I'd not heard before.

Is prior art the technical term for this. DW talks about throwing it away.
