Dan Shappir pushes back to  [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog] on an integrity issue regarding his posting on Isreal and MIGs etc.

I must do more work on the history of this Isreali Palestinian conflict. For instance, whence the virulent Arab anti Americanism? Surely it can't all relate to Israel?

Microsoft might lighten Wi-Fi's load: News.com's Ben Charny reports that Microsoft may offload some silicon functions from a Wi-Fi access point to the host computer.

If this means that they will release the software to extend Internet Connection Sharing so that any dual homed PC with a Wireless and wired card can act as an Access Point, I applaud.

The NY Times sent a reporter into the Jenin Refugee Camp on the West Bank.

To use an old-fashioned word it seems to me that what has been done here is a SIN. The public relations conflict over it sickens me to the stomach, and I bet that the truth - if it ever emerges - will be far worse that the Israeli army has acknowledged.

Bob Frankston: "In fact, a consortium of all of the telecommunications regulatory agencies and companies united in an effort to create a world-wide standard for email. It was called X.400 and the effort started in the early 1980's. While waiting for X.400 there was a need for an interim protocol. ... The protocol, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Program), is dominant while X.400 is almost forgotten."  [Scripting News]

I remember when I was Wimpey and we had succeeded in wiring up the three divisions on MS Mail, there was quite a debate on whether a X400 or SMTP gateway should be the first priority. To me it seemed a no-brainer that it should be SMTP.

PS MS Exchange is built on the "almost forgotten" X.400.

Googlematic
Googlematic lets you search Google through your Instant Messenging client. Well, maybe not your IM client in particular. But if you used AOL IM or MSN Messenger it would. References may be relefvant to Paul's idea of a MSN secreatry that you invite.
