Got a package from the new Swansea University Alumni programme addressed to Mum and Dad's house. I graduated 20 years ago. A sobering thought indeed.

His Dark Materials
New Line Cinema is in negotiations with Tom Stoppard to take the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy by Philip Pullman to the big screen. New Line were behind Lord of the Rings. HDM has been selling by the bucketload in the UK for the last couple of years seemingly positioned as the next step after Harry Potter.

Byers Tells the Truth
"Stephen Byers is again under pressure after he embarrassed the Government with unauthorised comments about plans for a referendum on joining the euro." Ironic to see that he's now in trouble for telling the truth after all the scrapes where he's been caught out being more economical with the truth.
