In a bit of a surprise, a government commission didn't recommend passing new laws or adopting questionable technologies to circumvent the failure of parents to supervise their children's activities. This disappoints a proponent of such moves, who is disappointed there is no "Techno-Gizmo" that will make the problem magically go away.

Gartner analyst Michael Silver believes that unattractive licensing terms pushed by Microsoft will prompt users to roll-out aternatives to the ubiquitous Office.
