Searching For Steganography
Researcher offers a new approach to detecting the use of steganography - hiding text or other information inside a graphics file. Tools embed the information in a graphics file's unused bits, taking advantage of the fact that the human eye can't detect the subtle variations in the image. But math doesn't lie and the new detector examines pixels for statistical anomalies. Now the only problem is trying to decide where the bad guys might have stored information among all the millions of images floating around the net.
