I think the YACCS comment system is busted. I cannot access their site from here (so it could be a firewall thing). Whatever, it is preventing me from viewing my own site so I have to wonder if that is preventing others as well. I have turned off comments for the time being. Argghh! Changes are not getting posted to my sites. Why?

I am getting that tingly feeling today. Eprise Tech Support finally got back to me, granting access to their Developer's site.

Here is what I am excited about. I think I can link Radio to Eprise. It looks like Eprise offers an XMLGateway into their server. They provide a COM component and some sample ASP scripts to exercise it. Radio doesn't care much for COM (it supports evaluation of javascript code and gets COM integration that way), but it does like XML. I'm thinking I'll start a TCP Trace on the Eprise server and reverse engineer the COM component. I just need to work out the XML format and then I can use Radio to edit Eprise managed content. That will be so cool!

Through my own inattention I have created a toxic environment in one of my saltwater aquariums. It is terrible, watching expensive fish die, knowing that I effectively poisoned them. I have already lost two Copper Banded Butterflies. A Bicolor Angel seems to be doing OK. The Hermit Crabs must be tough as nails. Same for the tank-raised Clowns that used to occupy the tank, but are now inhabiting a brand-new 58 gallon tank. Thanks to Dorothy, over at Beyond The Reef, for helping me to identify where I went wrong. Through a lack of regualar testing, the pH had dropped to 7.8 (it should be around 8.2) and my Nitrates were near 80 ppm. A bad combination; the Butterflies never had a chance.

I have added an InstantOutliner to my published materials. Click on the Coffee Mug in the left sidebar to subscribe. For the next few days it will probably be focused on my work with Eprise Participant Server.

A scant five hours after posting my take on the Instant Outliner (by using Radio's outliner to link shared OPML files) Userland posted the beta for the real Instant Outliner. It sounds even better than I had speculated. I plan to download it today and play around a bit.
