I have found, and subscribed myself to, a couple of good weblogs on 802.11 news. The first is by Glenn Fleishman - an author who receives frequent mention on Scripting News. Glenn's blog is dedicated to news about 802.11b specifically. Alan Reiter has both a weblog and a Manila site about 802.11 news. I think the same content appears on both. I figure these will help me get up the learning curve and stay abreast of what is happening in the Wi-Fi (see, I am learning already) marketplace. 2:08:19 PM |

I am getting the wireless access bug. I was shopping for a cable modem this weekend (tired of paying AT&T $10/month to lease one) and saw a LinkSys product - a wireless cable modem/DSL router for under $200. Not bad, but I already have a router for sharing my cable modem. A little digging found a simple LinkSys Wireless Access Point for about $140. And all this comes up at a time when my 14 year-old daughter really wants a PC in her room - a location that I cannot easily run cable to. I am running out of excuses for not putting a PC in her room! 11:03:40 AM |
