I still want to think about developing categories for slides. I think all the same reasons for category-specific stories apply to slides as well. For my part, I just want to keep some of it in-house. I know others use categories to separate content for specific audiences (e.g. clients they work for). I need to look into how RadioPoint specifies the directory the slide .txt files go into and see if I cannot wedge something in there.
It also ocurred to me while driving in this morning that it would be nice to use specific themes for specific slide presentations. One way to do this would be to put a customized #template.txt document in the same folder as the slides themselves. However, the slide presentation folder gets created when the slides are initially rendered from an outline. That is OK, but it requires two additional steps to make and render the slides.
- Create an outline
- build presentation
- customize #template.txt and move it into the appropriate directory
- rebuild the presentation
I wonder if there might be a directive I could use in the presentation to specify a template to use. I am thinking of something along the lines of the #renderOutlineWith directive. Then I could create the customized template and leave it in the slides folder - where it could be easily shared by many presentations. I will look into this and report back - probably tomorrow.
