Who owns the Internet's Wiring?

Hollywood and ISPs plug the pipes. David Janes points to two thought-provoking articles on the future of the Internet. The first is a piece on a plan by ISPs to charge you different amounts based on what you're downloading; the second is a nice bit of investigative journalism from Salon about the ever-concentrated ownership of Internet pipes. Together, they're pretty chilling reading.
