Results of Survey on Cellphone Usage. JCN, 22 October 2005 Online market researcher InfoPlant has released the results of a survey of 1,200 mobile phone users from Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan, aged 20 or older, on how they use handsets. The survey of 300 users from each country was conducted from August 19 to September 5. When asked about what kind of service and function is available on their mobile phones, over 90% of the respondents in all four countries replied, "email or short mailing message." Mobile Internet capability is 20% more evident in Japan than other countries. In China, merely 34% of the handset users mentioned photo shooting capability as one of the available functions. Reliance Infocomm To Provide Comic Strips On Mobile Phones; To Charge Rs 2 Per Log-in. Business Standard: It's now comic strips on mobile a la newspaper. Reliance Infocomm, India's leading mobile service provider, has begun uploading major Indian and foreign comic strips, on its R-World portal. At present, Archies, Chacha Chowdhary, Billoo & Pinki and Hum Tum are available on R World, and plans to add others on to the platform. Reliance Infocomm is planning to add one new strip a week on R World. "The addition of comic strips will help Reliance Infocomm to cash in on its universal appeal, irrespective of the age group, and use the powerful combination of pictures and prose to tell stories." The mobile comics application is also a breakaway from the conventional style of reading comics page by page, as on a cellphone the user reads frame by frame using the scroll key.
