Manila 9.5 is shipping! And I'm very happy to say that I was able to play a small part part in getting this release out the door.

Thanks to Scott and Jake for giving me the opportunity to participate in the release of an amazing piece of sofware.

Last but not least thanks to Steve, Lawrence, David, everyone else at Userland and all of our great beta testers, couldn't have done it without you :)

Happy (late) Birthday Steve!

Regular readers of this Blog will have noticed that I have been uncharacteristically quiet over the past month, I feel the time is right to finaly break the silence.

On May 11 2005 my Grandmother passed away. Since then every time I have sat down in front of my Blog i've wanted to write about the wonderful relationship I had with my Grandmother. I started to write several times, but was never happy with the result. Perhaps it was simply to soon, or maybe it was a side effect of the fact that I have trouble expressing my emotions or maybe my writing just hasn't progressed that far yet.

Either way I've decided to get back to my regular blogging activities. Hopefully some day I will be ready to take crack at this subject, only time will tell.

Until then, I love you Grandmaman and miss you very, very much.

Great post by Bruce Scneier on the billions being wasted on innefective security mechanisms, here is my favourite:

Radiation monitors at ports and borders that cannot differentiate between radiation emitted by a nuclear bomb and naturally occurring radiation from everyday material like cat litter or ceramic tile.
