COOL. E-mail updates are finally working. I'd have to say it was user error that led to my posting problems, but it's nice to know that I can do this.
And in case anyone from Userland happens to scan this, how about a very simple usability upgrade? I know that I can sift through the mountains of documentation available regarding built-in system verbs/macros/whatever, but what I really want to do is USE them. Instead of a WYSIWYG editor, give me a drop-down list of verbs that I can simply select and insert.
And updating templates? Oh. Muh. Gah. Would it be too much to ask for the behind-the-scenes to be a whole shitload of includes, and the template editing screen to actually be a view of my most recent weblog entry (or some sample lorem ipsum text). Then you'll have shitloads of "edit" buttons (or just a mouse hover if that's too cluttered) around the different template elements (i.e. Navigator Links, or item text, or whatever) that simply pop up a dialog box with a more visual way to configure the settings? I don't know if I'm making any sense, so I'd best mock up some screens. In any event, what's there now is the equivalent of "source" editing of your weblog. For such an insanely visual thing like template modifications, you'd think there'd be a better interface than, well, a text box. No wonder is such a pain in the ass.
