John Robb expounds a bit more on perceived benefits of instant outlining/blogging versus e-mail and IM.
Heh. It's close. It's got to be permanent at the same time that it has to be about NOW. E-mail and IM are too intrusive, according to John, and I can almost buy into that.
What he's looking for (perhaps) is a nice combination of sending some amount of personal knowledge out into the ether, trusting (hoping) that others will find it valuable, while at the same time, allowing an individual to minimize the time they spend searching for that valuable knowledge, without (again perhaps) the intrusion of an IM or e-mail.
I'll try to spend some more time articulating (and perhaps drawing) some thoughts on solutions to this problem.
Check out oddpost. Cool stuff.
