From Boing Boing : Anomalies hint at magnetic pole flip. Heh. Of course if this is true, the flip wouldn't happen for another millenia or two. But still. One of my sophomore year college roommates passed out after drinking way too much tequila. He woke up while several friends and I were busy writing on his butt with indelible ink markers. In this state of semi-consciousness, he said something that none of us, until now, have ever been able to fully comprehend. The world is spinning around the wrong way, and when people find out, they're going to go crazy. Maybe not now, and maybe not
tomorrow, but perhaps in one or two millenia, Tor will finally be proven
correct, and the world, once again, will spin in proper fashion. |

Planetary Alignment Nice little discovery in the paper this morning: all five of the planets that can be seen from Earth with the naked eye will line up by this weekend. In the Twin Cities, they will be visible about an hour after sunset. And just the other night, Esmé wanted to stay up until
it got dark enough to see some stars at night (we counted eight). Might be
fun to head out to Lake Harriet Friday or Saturday night. |

91 degrees! We planned the vacation at the end of April because, in general, we've reached the limits of our tolerance for Minnesota winters by about that time. Supposed to be sweltering again today. But no matter how hot it gets here in April, there's still no Carribean Sea outside my bedroom window... 9:24:56 AM |

Command and control. Sigh. I'd actually like the concept of saving instant message conversations, especially if the conversation contains some good insights. But what CNN is talking about here is really a control issue: Instant messages aren't always fleeting. 7:39:11 AM |
