Oh, to be five again. Esmé is going to a classmate's birthday party this afternoon. We stopped by Target this morning, after bagels and coffee, to pick up his presents. Esmé told us that he loved Batman. No, Spiderman. So we decided to get a video and an action figure. Turns out the action figures weren't all that expensive, so he's getting two of them, one web-swinging Spiderman, and one pumpkin-throwing Green Goblin. Now, I'm not complaining. Really. I got several nice shirts for my birthday this year, some gift certificates for two excellent golf courses, plus I was able to spend the entire week in Cancun with my family. But a Spiderman and a Green Goblin? And a video? Man. Close call. 1:44:00 PM
