Factual Error Found On Internet "If it happens once, it can happen again," Luyck said. "I shudder to think that, one dark day in the future, misinformation could again make its way online. In fact, it may already have. How do we know that trusted sites like the Drudge Report and Fucked Company are as accurate as we instinctively trust them to be? Can we blindly trust that SpideyRulez.com is correct in its reportage that the upcoming Spider-Man sequel will feature Christopher Walken as Dr. Octopus? Pandora is out of the box." As always, spot-on reporting from The Onion. Thank
God they uncovered this story. I noticed that none of the Big Media outlets
had the courage to carry it. Go figure. |

Morning Reading Peter Erlinder makes a good point about the Patriot Act. The "lack of specific warnings" defense may justify a
lack of action before the airliners hit the World Trade Center, but it
can't explain away the lies that were told to Congress and the American
people after Sept. 11 to justify the administration's war on civil
liberties. The administration has been cynically using its own failure to
act on intelligence developed under then-existing laws to justify vastly
increasing its own power at the expense of civil freedoms. |

Success Story Small local company makes good. Hopefully they'll last beyond a few years. Also worth reading is the related article on creating a unique work environment. While an aesthetically appealing
workplace can be inspiring, it's more important to work in a place that's
not uninspiring, Lauver said. Companies make the mistake of using
bureaucratic structures to control people, but that's the wrong way to run a
company ... communicate, and then let people do their job. |

I have to admit, this is pretty cool. I remember how earth-shattering it was when the Mac OS let you expand and collapse directories with a similar look and feel (little triangles pointing right or down). Very nice. (link courtesy of Adam Curry). 6:55:39 AM |
