Used to think I was pretty anonymous. Enough Robert Browns get returned by a Google search that I figured I'd be buried pretty deep. Even if you look for Robert K. Brown, you're more likely to find the Soldier of Fortune guy than me.

But my preferred entry into Google is the more minimal interface to be found at www.google.com/microsoft. Imagine my surprise, then, when a search through that interface shows me at the top of the charts.

Weirdness. Seems like Google is using a different algorithm between the two interfaces. Hmm. Chia Pet vs. Chia Pet. I'm losing 17,000 some Chia Pet sites using the cleaner interface. What's up with that?

Ahhh. Got a copy of Windows 2000 Professional from a co-worker yesterday afternoon, replacing the "standard" NT 4.0. There were enough little usability things built into Win2k (adding shortcuts to the taskbar, single-clicking desktop icons, expanding the Control Panel via the Start menu) that not having them had me feeling pretty hamstrung over the past few weeks. Nice to get back to a more comfortable desktop environment.
