I've been thinking about the film Revolution OS since I watched it on Friday night. It's making the rounds of the theatres in some cities but I saw it on the Sundance Channel. Here's a dilemma for the movie people. I tried to buy a copy of the Video yesterday but can't find it for sale, so next chance I get, I'll be bootlegging a copy.
Some people are pretty harsh on Open Source software. Hell Stallman doesn't like the term. There's a section in the film where Stallman explains that part of his disagreement with Eric Raymond is that Raymond and others focus mainly on the "practical aspects", at the expense of the social aspects, of free software. Of course.
People like Bruce Perens and Eric Raymond are trying to drive the acceptance of free software written under multiple licenses. The BigCo suits and others want practical (profit making) solutions.
