2008 Presidential Election
The Daily Kos reports, "Ah, you know you've got it going on when the WSJ editorial page starts paying attention to you." The story is about Governor Brian Schweitzer of Montana. He is being touted for the Democratic nomination for president.
Coyote Gulch thinks that a westerner would be a good choice for president. Healthy distrust of government and the ability to chart a course in boom and bust are qualities that are well-developed here.
The Hill: "A prominent Democratic strategist has announced his campaign to create an early eight-state Western primary that would force Democratic presidential candidates to campaign in predominantly red states during the 2008 primary season. Michael Stratton, who served in the Clinton and Carter administrations and was recently named to the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Presidential Nomination and Scheduling Commission, has assembled a coalition of Western Democrats to petition the DNC on behalf of Western states, which, he argues, have been neglected during recent primary campaigns." Neglected or ignored?
Thanks to the Western Democrat for the link.
