Colorado Water
The earthquake in the Paradox Valley in Utah was caused by the Bureau of Reclamation pumping salt water into deep formations according to CNN via the Cortez Journal. From the article, "A Bureau of Reclamation plant near Naturita, Colo., about 60 miles from Grand Junction, pumps approximately 230 gallons of brine, or water saturated by salt, 14,000 feet into deep wells around the state's Paradox Valley. And it was that process that was linked to the cause of the quake." The desalting of the Colorado River is a huge problem out here in the west.
