Denver May 2005 Election Here's an article from the Denver Post about the opposition to the new Justice Center. From the article, "Campaign leaders who oppose Denver's proposal to build a jail and courthouse downtown panned the plan Thursday as excessive and misguided. Roughly 70 people representing an array of community groups gathered on the steps of the City and County Building to unveil the Denver Voters for Responsible Spending campaign. Speakers for the campaign said they oppose the justice-center proposal - which voters will decide on May 3 - because the city has not justified its scope or its cost. They added that the city has not dedicated enough attention to diversionary programs and other means of keeping people out of jail." 6:26:23 AM    comment []
