Denver May 2005 Election
Fundraising numbers are in for the May election and so far proponents of the new Denver Justice Center are far ahead of opponents, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 6, 2005, "Jail foes raise just $20"]. From the article, "Backers of Denver's justice center proposal have raised $447,900 in contributions, according to campaign finance reports filed Tuesday. Opponents have raised $20."
Here's the coverage from the Denver Post [April 6, 2005, "Jail backers winning the race for funds"]. From the article, "Ciruli predicts that roughly 50,000 voters will cast ballots on May 3. That would mean Citizens for a Safe Denver will end up spending more than $10 per voter in its campaign, he said."
