Meanwhile Colorado Pols writes, "Denver City Council President Michael Hancock could not believe that his colleagues were serious. A majority of council demanded a January 30 special election to eliminate the Denver Election Commission. The $600,000-plus price tag gave Hancock pause. Also, technical and operational issues regarding Denver elections have yet to be resolved. 'This is a bad idea,' he said. 'This would be the worst decision we ever made.'"
