Sustainable zoning? James van Hemert (via New West): "I work in a Gold certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) [per thou]green[per thou] building. We at the law school are so excited and proud about this that we mention it in our promotional brochures, announce it on our web site, give tours, and generally position it as a selling point for the school. We have non-toxic carpet, recycled materials, windows that actually open, waterless urinals, automatic lighting that turns off when you leave the room (most of the time, anyways), and a 40% savings in energy used for heating and cooling. Voters eliminate Denver Election Commission The Denver Election Commission is toast, according to the Rocky Mountain News. From the article, "Denver residents voted 2-1 today to do away with the city's three-member election commission in favor of a single clerk and recorder to oversee elections in the city." Wash Park Prophet: "As I wrote earlier on this blog, I believe that the decision that the voters have now made was a bad idea, but it is unlikely to have serious consequences in the near future. An elected clerk and recorder can run elections, even if it isn't the ideal way for this task to be done." Here's the link to the Denver Election Commission Election Results page.
