Peter Blake highlights an early battle in the 2008 U.S. Senate race, in his column in today's Rocky Mountain News [July 16, 2005, "Blake: Will park lease fight launch '08 Senate race?"]. He writes, "You may already have had a bellyful of the nascent 2006 campaigns, but do save room for the dessert in 2008. Udall, who had a one-night stand with the 2004 Senate campaign but deferred to alpha male Ken Salazar, already has declared his intention to run in 2008, this time for real by golly. Allard, who earlier said he wasn't interested in a third term, is showing signs of changing his mind."
