Denver November 2004 Election

Here's an in-depth article about Peter Coors, from the Rocky Mountain News [July 14, 2004, "Business background guides Coors' path to politics"].

Peter Blakes highlights a new 527 committee supporting Bob Schaffer in his column in today's Rocky Mountain News [July 14, 2004, "Blake: Coors-Schaffer heats up"]. The committee, "Colorado Conservative Voters," was set up by former U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong and is supporting Schaffer's bid.

Inititive 100 is the subject of this article from the Rocky Moutain News [July 14, 2004, "Circus clash a high ire act"]. From the article, "Proponents of the measure say the animals are treated poorly and want them kept out of Denver. The debate over the Aug. 10 ballot measure at the City and County Building came during a campaign kickoff for the Keep the Circus in Denver Committee. More than two dozen business, civic and political leaders joined officials from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and the El Jebel Shrine Circus to tout the wholesome family and educational values of the circus and publicly throw their backing behind the fight to keep the circus in Denver." Here's the coverage from the Denver Post [July 14, 2004, "Circus-animal proposal debated"].
