Chicken Marsala
It came out wonderfully. I doubled the amount of Marsala I used. But I'd cut up the chicken rather than using whole breasts anyway (more surface area, more sauce needed) and an early tasting was too bland. So, doubling the amount of marsala fixed it up just fine. Yum!

Pumpkin Gnocchi
oh gods... I could blog these all day. I'll stop now.
Must... go... to... Italy... now... 1:28:50 PM
Lemon Liqueur
Limoncello (called lomoncino here) is truly wonderful. We were able to buy bottles at an Italian liquor store in the North End of Boston. We may have to make a pilgrammage there or to Federal Hill in Providence to restock in the near future. Or maybe I'll give this recipe a try... When we were last in Sorrento, Italy in 1999, we were introduced to a limoncello + cream drink. They somehow figured out how to keep the cream from curdling in the lemon. We haven't seen that over here yet. Damn, I want to go back to Italy. NOW.

Italian Food Forever - Italian Recipes
I felt like learning how to make Chicken Marsala, one of my favorite dishes, and in searching for a recipe stumbled across this site. It's wonderful!

Brain Work: Steven Pinker
Steven Pinker talking about his
new book in which he examines that whole nature vs. nurture debate. I have read part of his
Words and Rules and like the way he looks at the mind and development.
One of the best arguments I have heard in favor of nurture being the primary force in development is the simple fact that there are an order of magnitude more neurons than genes which makes it impossible to hardwire very much. However, on the flipside I have heard it described that it isn't so much that behavior itself is hardwired as certain proclivities and instincts. Either way, this book is now on my list of books to read when I finish with my American History jag. 8:56:49 AM
