Slashdot.org : Episode II Gets Rave Review - This actually looks pretty exciting. Don't read if you don't want spoilers. There are a few things in there that you might want to wait to see. However, if you were thinking about not seeing it because of recent news about the boy band appearance, then do read. There is good info. This should kick Episode I's ass.

From Lawrence's Notebook : BBC Science News - "Germany boosts wind power.
Germany, the world's leading wind power producer, increases its capacity by almost 50%." I saw today in the USA Today one of those little fancy bar charts. It was a breakdown of energy production in the US. Coal was number one (yuk). Wind power was like last or next to last at 0.3%. That's pitiful. Just think how easy it would be to get that up to a staggering 1%! Wow. That would be triple the number today. If George wants to save the economy, he needs to invest in useful technology, not coal or army building.

UKYahooSports: Arsenal closes the gap on Man U.
Thank God! I like to root for the underdogs. And I hate to see sports dynasties. Bring on the usurpers, whoever you are. Personally, I'd like to see Liverpool do it. A return to the their old glory as it were. Plus, I think it would do all kinds of good things for Michael Owen's career. Arsenal would be OK. I don't think Newcastle has what it takes. Shearer is past his prime. Is it a one-man team? I can't name one player off of Leeds United. Oh wait, they just got Robbie Fowler, so now I can. Hmm. Perhaps I can get behind Leeds.

chemistry.about.com - What the heck is in catnip that makes cats go crazy?
It's primarily the scent of a chemical compound called Nepetalactone. Cats detect the smell through their vomeronasal organ located in the roof of their mouth.
