Have you heard the one about the federal appeals court in San Francisco that said the U.S. "Pledge of Allegiance" is unconstitutional because the phrase "one nation under God" violates the separation of church and state?
Better yet, have you heard the one about the politicians who fell all over themselves in their haste to disagree w/the ruling?
 The panel's decision prompted an immediate reaction in Washington, where senators unanimously passed a resolution condemning the ruling and where dozens of House members gathered on the Capitol steps to recite the pledge and sing "God Bless America."
The White House spokesman, Ari Fleischer, said President Bush called the decision "ridiculous," and many legal experts said they expected it to be reversed on appeal. 
Even better, did you hear about the "personal and scary" threats to the man who filed the lawsuit in the first place?
The dictionary would call the response to the court's decision jingoism:
