- Good Morning. Today is February 6th, halfway through winter! As my father, a dairy farmer all his 92 years, used to say every December 21st, "When the days begin to lengthen, the cold begins to strengthen." We're just back to Connecticut from a couple of days in West Brattleboro, Vermont, where we own my grandparents home next to the active dairy farm that my brother and sister-in-law (Charlie and Helen), and their son, and daughter-in-law (Charlie Jr and Karen) work on seven days a week. Besides milking a big herd of Holsteins twice a day and all the chores, they have a Country Store with a Sugar House where they make Maple Syrup every spring. "Sugaring" is almost here again -- in about three weeks for three to four weeks. They have a web site, robbfamilyfarm.com .

This is my first post. My intent is to focus on:
1. Finding and sharing any articles and other sources of information regarding developments in the treatment of Diabetes Type One which my Granddaughter has, and for Parkinsons, which I have. I am very hopeful that stem cell research will provide a CURE, so as to relieve my Granddaughter's dependency on Insulin shots and my dependency on Mirapex and Sinemet pills. There have been some early successes with stem cells in animals, but there is much work to be done before stem cell therapy, in particular embryonic, can be used successfully and safely. Somewhere, in some country, and very possibly not in the USA due to lack of funding under the control of misguided individuals who value a few embryonic cells over the health of living members of society, a cure will be developed.
2. Continuing to develop information on what is needed to make a business web site an effective global web site. This includes identifying global web sites that are "role models". I have a passion for international marketing and currently serve in a volunteer role as the CoChairman of the International Business Committee (IBC) for the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce. My last 12 years at IBM were as the International Account Manager for GE.
3. Any subject that I find of interest.
