Subscriptions:
Now if you use BibDesk (v8, due out in a few days), you can export your bibTeX bib files as RSS feeds, so that you can publish your papers (or lists of interesting papers) on the web, and others can subscribe to it with a standard RSS reader. (tested with Radio Userland Update: and NetNewsWire)

It has a name.
This bill will be the ultimate test of technology understanding for your congressman.
If your congressman votes for this bill, vote them out, because they don't understand anything about technology.
(and they'll never be able to learn. who has time, when you can have lobbyists tell you whatever they need you to know?)

Dave Winer with some valid questions that highlight how ridiculous this new bill (not yet, and hopefully not ever - a law) is.

Dave Winer asks us to stop patronizing the industry and vote these officials out of office.
Take particular notice of This Link.
How fitting that I just watched The Distinguished Gentleman.

Nicholas Riley linked to me - I was wondering when he'd notice BibDesk, since he's the only other CS researcher I know of in weblog land that uses Mac OS X.
I've subscribed to his weblog for a while, 'cause I like his hacks, such as F-Script Anywhere, and I share his interest in UI design.

From John Robb: The corporate corruption we experienced with the accounting scandals is making its way through Congress in the form of vote buying. The Berman bill is a good example of this. He got $186,891 he got last year from Entertainment is clearly a quid pro quo payment for his introduction of this bill. Hollings actions are similar in their nature -- he got massive funding from the entertainment lobby over the last five years.
