Macworld Article about Jaguar, slight inaccuracy.

They say: "Open and Save dialog boxes can now be sensibly navigated with arrow keys, eliminating one major frustration of previous versions; however, you still can't type a letter to automatically move to a file whose name begins with that character (a feature we used every day in OS 9)."

I say: You can type the letter in the "Go to:" field underneath the column view (this field is highlighted when the dialog opens) and it'll highlight a matching file. You can even type in paths, like "~/Documents/foo" and if there's a file foo* in ~/Documents, it'll highlight that. Honestly, once you get used to it (it IS different from the OS 9 version) - I think it's just as good.

From Congresswoman Susan Davis

I've received an email response from my Congresswoman about the Copyright holders' hacking bill, aka the Peer-to-Peer Piracy prevention act. She is Rep. Susan Davis, and I'm relatively satisfied with her response - the next step I need to take, of course, is pay attention to how she votes on this...

Thank you for sharing your opposition for the "anti-piracy" legislation introduced by Congressman Berman. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.

As you are aware, this legislation would impose new regulations on peer-to-peer file swapping. Services that connect Internet users for file sharing, but do not directly store copyrighted files, would be limited by the bill.

This measure is still in the early stages of the legislative process, but I can assure you I will pay close attention as it proceeds. Further, provisions that would allow for automatic file deletions on personal computers make me extremely nervous. Not only would this be generally intrusive, but also, I worry that it could damage private property by erasing incorrect files. I share your concerns with this legislation.

Again, thank you for contacting me to share your perspective on such an important matter. As your representative, I both need and value your thoughts and ideas.
