Back on the coast after a 5 week stint in a very hot (114°F plus) Arizona, it is delightfully cool here. I am working on a painting of the surf that has Volkswagens protruding from it. The 'canvas' is actually a 1/4 inch thick fiber based material that is similar to the cardboard that backs drawing paper pads, only thicker. It had been generously gessoed and stapled to a frame of 1X2 lumber. I'm in the process of cutting holes through the fiberboard for three green beetles of different sizes to be stuck through.
I'll publish images of the finished piece as soon as it is.
