Michael Bowen eulogizes Johnny Cochran who I was very surprised to hear, has died.

But before any of that - Why do things on my Gallery Page Change without my changing them? This is weid, very weird. A thumbnail graphic was just replaced with a thumbnail sized image that the associated link was pointed to.

I'm changing this blog back to black tomorrow.

I dunno why, it just seems the thing to do. I've been thinking about it all month, and it needs to be done on a monthly border, so tomorrow, April Fools day, is it. I might do some cosmetic surgery as well. There are also a few projects that I'd like to do that require digging into Radio's rendering engine:

I want a control that specifies the width of an entry. Now I do it with a width=700 (or whatever) attribute in a table, and it's a pain in the butt to have to put in the code every time. Invariably I forget to close the table and have to edit my entry [yep, this time too].

Second, I want to automate the big first letter of each entry. I type "<big><big>F</big></big>" each and every time. Obsessive, huh.

Third, and this one affects you, I want my RSS file to have links to photos, not the photos themselves. It bugs me how badly my blog messes up Radio's (and others?) newsreader. I don't suppose many people subscribe to 101-365 for that reason. Fixing it won't get anybody back, but at least I won't have to see it.

Because, you see, THIS IS NOT A PHOTOBLOG.

This Nate Kushner guy really knows how to blog. He started a Moveable Type blog, A Week of Kindness only three weeks ago to promote his fledgeling Manhattan comedy business. Awarded the Cruel Site of the Day, he's swimming in publicity with an unlikely story of plagiarism, betrayal and mistaken identity.

Even if completely fake, it's funny. And cruel. And a bummer, since one of my best options for post retirement income is to ghost-write sophomore level term papers for lazy but well-off college students. I'll write on any topic, and guarantee every word original and bad enough to turn right in.

If you decide to visit Kushner's blog, you might want to skip the short comedy movie. Although the plug and jack foreplay is kinda hot, the sound quality is atrocious and they throw up on screen.

PS: Funniest line in the whole thing: "All this as well as diluting my own English degree,".

A feeding black skimmer:

This is a collage of four photographs, each exposed as shown, and combined by adding layers with Photoshop and erasing the top layers where the birds in the layers below are.

I just renewed Radio Userland. I especially like the way I can often understand what it's doing. Every now and then it throws me for a loop though. Four of the image files in my Userland supplied storage were (seemingly randomly) renamed. A 1 was appended to the filename after the name proper, and before the dot of the extension.

For example a file named "garbage.jpg" was re-named to "garbage1.jpg". In one case, a 1 that I intentionaly put on a file was mysteriously removed. Weird.

Two other birds:

And a clown in the park.
