| I had the two cameras from the Traveling Camera Odyssey in my pockets as I set out to photograph some 'typical' Americans celebrating the birth of our country. Since the 4th of July fell on a Sunday - right in the middle of a traditional 3 day weekend - I had just enough time to meet up with about 35 million of my fellow countrymen and countrywomen in sunny Southern California:

 People froliced in the water as it lapped the shore. | |
 Some awaitied the evening patiently.

 Some cruised the beach.
|
 And some just sat at home and flew the flag. | |
People did this, |
and people did that. |
 Mostly they just had fun, ... or not.

All of these pictures were taken with a D100 with a 24-120vr Nikkor attached. Over a few hours of prowling the beach, I took many photos. On two occasions, I took pictures with the Traveling Cameras, first the film camera then the digital one.
