Real pushes lower-cost Rhapsody. [News.com]
The latest on Real's acquisition of Listen.
Slightly interesting that Apple once had an operating system project code-named Rhapsody.

iTunes 4.01 cripples stream sharing:
" The sharing feature, enabled initially in 4.0, has been severely crippled. No longer can users share music across the internet, they must be connected on the same subnet of the same network. This means I can no longer share my files from home and listen to them wherever I may be. Of course, a workaround can be had, one can use the advice in the latest MacAddict to share the iTunes music directory, and connect via AFP to the computer to play files. But this hackish method has its obvious shortfalls, and is not nearly as convenient." [MacInTouch]
This is a move that was predictable, given the fact that Apple needs good relationships with the major labels.
