Apple adds DVD burner to PowerBook. The company updates its entire portable line, most notably adding its first PowerBook capable of burning DVDs. [CNET News.com]

I want one!

Just bought a Sony TRV18 last weekend and now have a keen desire to start burning DVDs (I know, I could just get a copy of Toast 5 and burn VCDs on my iMac's CD/RW, but DVD's soooo much more cool, and a 1GHz G4 TiPB would be a screamer...)

Why Open Source Software / Free Softare (OSS/FS)? Look at the numbers!. David Wheeler makes the case for open source. Particularly interesting is his discussion of the infamous TCO (total cost of ownership) and the potential advantages derived from using OSS/FS. [dwheeler.com]
