French court won't force Apple to open iTunes [The Macintosh News Network] Lots of people have compare Apple situation bis-a-bis the iPod with the situation of Apple and the PC clones. What some people forget is the hard work that went into the PC clones success. Not only did IBM (not some unknown company, but IBM) create the first PC, but capable engineers reverse-engineered the BIOS and Compaq created a compelling product different from IBM's offering.
