El Firmazo is a success in terms of turnout, but I think the opposition is banking too much on the symbolism of the date. In the end they will regret it. When people see it doesn't produce results, they will be disappointed. You can only call the people to battle a few times, before leading a victory. By the same token, the government will regret having used the strike as a weapon against the opposition. They could have defeated the strike on the first week, but instead they choose to exacerbate the strike in order to produce economic damage. They won, but in the long run the economic damage will be the death of the government party. Probably forever...
