This is call "buying insurance' you say the prisoner is going to lie before the interrogation starts, that way you don't have to believe him when he says truths you don't like. Safire will never admit the hard truths. There were no weapons of mass destruction, no Al-Qaeda connection. Just a small time crock who got too far and torture a lot of people. No ideals behind his grab of power. It happens... more than one would think... A lot of current leaders should look themselves in the face of Saddam, through lies and empty defiance he manage to bring himself out of power.
