I bought a new MOBO for a BSD server I'm running the other day. The shipment arrived on Monday, 20 Jan 02. I installed the board, but was unable to get video from it. I then purchased a AGP 4 video card from CompUSA, thinking my old AGP 2 video card might be the problem. Still no video. I reset the CMOS by removing the ATX power from the board and setting the J4 jumper to clear the CMOS. After a few minutes, I reset the J4 jumper, and replaced the ATX power to the board. Still no video.

Attempting to trace the problem elsewhere, I re-seated the memory (2 64mb SDRAM), video board and processor. As you can imagine, re-seating the processor did little as it is a Socket-A ZIF chip. The heat sink, however, could bear a change: loosen the clips. This I did.

Upon the next system power-on, the system ran for 30 sec. No video. Then it stopped.

Now, after clearing the CMOS again, still no power-on. I fear for my processor. I have nowhere else to go re: testing the board.

Must be Murphy's Law.

Well they seem to have fixed the Apple user's homepage. Now it says "New Apps for Mac Os X"
