Plastic is pointing to a Village Voice piece about the Top Ten Questions the Media Can't Answer.

Its a real eye opener to read this then flip on CNN or FOX News and listen to the verbal diarrhea. Fun for the whole family. [Adam Curry: CurryDotCom]

The Guardian: Webarian. Q&A with Brewster Kahle. A Terabyte for one of the Wayback Machine's computers costs about $4,000 - the Moore's law surprises me every time. The machine itself is made up of ordinary HP desktops stacked on top of each other. We take out the disk it comes with and put in a 160 Gb large disk. [Tomalak's Realm]

Alright, who's got $4k to lend me???

Semantic Studios: Social Network Analysis. How do knowledge workers learn? How do they decide what to learn next? What motivates them to share? These questions are central to the challenges of knowledge management, and yet most corporate portals and online communities are designed in ignorance of their answers. [Tomalak's Realm]

Robot care bears for the elderly. Robot teddy bears are just one of the ways digital technology is being used to care for the elderly in Japan. [BBC News: sci/tech]

The future of robotics in practical use is in Japan. We may develop the software, concepts, etc. But the Japanese have the wil and desire to make these things happen.

Digital data puts Mars on map. Researchers produce the most detailed atlas ever made of Mars and put it on the internet for all to see. [BBC News: sci/tech]

I love space.

So much for discipline...

Last few days I have not been in my routine. I've been working on some OS problems with the new machine. It now dual boots FreeBSD and SuSE Linux. My day usually starts or ends with my reading the news on the web, then putting stuff I find interesting up here.

Well, I'm a bit out of the loop today.
