We have finally finished the first part of the Vizzavi Hellas SMS Alerts. This is essentially a SMS Application sever that allows Vizzavi to develop and deploy SMS alert applications. SMS Alerts small programs that when given a SMS message containing a specific code string (e.g. WEATHER) respond with a SMS message containing the information that corresponds to the code string. I'm proud to say that I was part of the team that developed the SMS Alerts engine. This has enriched my knowledge on how certain parts of wireless telephony work. It has also made me lose all respect for Greek telecommunications companies but that a very long and sad story. I'm going to add some SMS and SMPP links on my Java Stuff section soon.
