I’m not in a writing mood lately so a bit of PC games and movie critique for now. DOOM 3 was a disappointment for me the graphics are good but the gameplay is the bog standard FPS we have all seen 10.000 times before. I just hope someone with more talent and imagination takes the game’s engine and does something more useful with it. Besides, wait a little more and the upcomming Unreal 3 engine looks much more promising. Total War: Rome on the other hand is bloody excellent, don’t miss it. Movie of the week (actually last week) is The Village. That Shyamalan guy had a rather good initial concept for a movie there, he could have made a really strong allegory of what is going on in the world and especially the US but at some point he missed the whole thing completely and turned it into a pile of conservative crap. Pity. |
