The Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, from Burnaby in British Columbia, won the main Grade One prize after performing in front of a record crowd of more than 20,000 people. I thought this was big news and then I read 'It has previously won the prize in 1995, 1996 and 1999.' .< 11:50:38 AM  >Chandra - About Chandra - The Chandra Mission N ASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, which was launched and deployed by Space Shuttle Columbia in July of 1999, is the most sophisticated X-ray observatory built to date. Chandra is designed to observe X-rays from high energy regions of the universe, such as the remnants of exploded stars. I'm not much of a 'space' guy but there are some extraordinary images here.
